Mold Testing in Kleberg
Mold inspection in Kleberg, southeast Dallas
Kleberg has been part of Dallas since 1978, and its homes deal with the same heat, humidity and summer storms as the rest of the city. For a mold inspection in Kleberg, Mold Test DFW maps the moisture, samples the air and any growth, and has an independent lab analyze it all. Then we explain the results without the jargon.
Set a Time for Your Mold Test
Texas law licenses mold assessors and bars a license holder from doing both the assessment and the remediation on one project (Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1958). That is why we stick to testing. Let us know what is going on in the house, and we will suggest a sampling plan.

Knowing Beats Guessing
A musty smell can come from a dozen places. Mold testing narrows it down: whether indoor spore counts run higher than outdoors, which types are present, and which materials are damp enough to support growth. The EPA has no federal standard for indoor mold, so results are read against the outdoor sample.
What You Store in the Attic
Attics get very hot in summer and can turn humid when a roof leaks or a bath fan vents into them. Some things handle that well. Others soak up moisture, grow mold, and hide leaks from view.
Cardboard boxes
KEEP IT ELSEWHERE
Cardboard absorbs humidity and can hide a leak until the box falls apart.
Clothes and linens
KEEP IT ELSEWHERE
Fabric holds moisture and picks up a musty smell that is hard to wash out.
Photos and papers
KEEP IT ELSEWHERE
Heat and humidity curl, stick and spot them. A closet inside the house is safer.
Sealed plastic bins
FINE UP THERE
Lidded bins keep dust and moisture out and make leaks easier to spot around them.
Luggage
FINE UP THERE
Hard-sided bags hold up well. Air soft bags out before storing them.
Holiday decor in bins
FINE UP THERE
Fine in sealed containers. Skip the original cardboard boxes.
Leave a clear path to the roof deck and look up with a flashlight after big storms. A stain on the underside of the decking is much easier to see when nothing is stacked against it.

Range Hoods: Vented or Recirculating?
Cooking puts a surprising amount of steam into the air. Whether your range hood removes that moisture or just moves it around makes a difference over time.
VENTED
Ducted to the outside
Pulls steam and cooking moisture out through a duct to the exterior. It is the better choice for moisture, as long as the duct actually ends outside and not in the attic.
Check: with the fan running, look for airflow at the cap on the outside wall or roof.
RECIRCULATING
Filtered back into the room
Traps grease and some odor in a filter, then blows the air back into the kitchen. The moisture stays in the house.
Check: use lids on pots, run the AC while cooking, and clean or replace the filters on schedule.
Firewood Belongs Outside
Stacks of firewood carry moisture, spores and insects. Keeping a large pile in the garage, on a back porch against the wall, or in the house for weeks gives all three a path inside. Store wood off the ground and away from the house, and bring in only what you will burn in a day or two.
What Clients Have Said

He was able to get in, do a complete thorough walkthrough, send samples off to the lab, and write a report up for us (that included a massive amount of broken down details), all before our option period ended.

What really stands out is how easy he is to work with. Ryan makes the entire process smooth and stress-free. His attention to detail with paperwork is also top-notch—everything is always accurate, complete, and submitted promptly.
If you're looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to their work, Ryan is the one to call. Highly recommended. United Water Restoration group Arlington, Texas Operations Manager, James Johnson

From the very beginning, Ryan was outstanding—he explained the testing process clearly, answered all of our questions, and made the entire experience stress-free. The appointment was scheduled quickly, and he arrived right on time with all of his professional equipment.
What really impressed us was how thorough and detail-oriented Ryan was. He didn’t just take air and surface samples—he explained each step of the process so we understood how the testing works and what the results would show. He was professional, respectful of our home, and very transparent about what he was doing.
Compared to other companies we’ve used in the past, Mold Test DFW was by far more honest and customer-focused. The final report was easy to understand, very comprehensive, and gave us peace of mind to move forward with the right remediation decisions.
If you need accurate, reliable, and trustworthy mold testing, I highly recommend Mold Test DFW. Ryan went above and beyond, and we’ll absolutely call them again in the future if we ever need testing.
From Its Own City to Southeast Dallas
Kleberg incorporated as a city in 1956 and had 4,510 residents by 1970. By 1978 it was the largest town in Texas with no property tax, and on April 3 of that year Dallas annexed it. Dallas Fire Station 9 opened that same month in the building that had served as Kleberg’s city hall, police station and volunteer fire station. The old Kleberg post office on Seagoville Road was renamed the Seagoville Post Office in 2011, so some local mail now carries a Seagoville name.
Wherever your mail says you live, a mold inspection in Kleberg starts the same way: find the moisture, then sample around it.
Small Problems Grow
The sooner moisture is found, the more options you have. Early testing usually means:
- Drying instead of tearing out.
- Fixing one area instead of several.
- A clear record if you need to file a claim.
Jetted Tubs and Garden Tubs
Big soaking tubs are easy to love and easy to forget about. Their jets, pumps and surrounds hold water in places you rarely see.
EVERY MONTH OR SO
Run the jets with clean water
Jet lines hold water between uses. Running them with hot water and a cleaner made for jetted tubs flushes out residue that can smell stale.
A COUPLE OF TIMES A YEAR
Look behind the access panel
Most jetted tubs have a removable panel near the pump. Check for drips, a damp subfloor or a musty smell.
AFTER ANY LEAK
Check the tub surround
Garden tubs set into a deck often have tile and caulk around the rim. Gaps let water run under the tub where nobody looks.
State Licensing for Mold Work
Mold assessment consultants in Texas must be licensed through TDLR. Getting licensed involves state-approved coursework and an exam, and staying licensed involves insurance and ongoing education. Look up any assessor before they sample your home; we will provide our license number whenever you ask.
Our certified mold inspectors handle every Mold Test DFW visit, and our mold assessment consultants are trained and certified.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Kleberg part of Dallas, or Seagoville?
Kleberg has been part of the City of Dallas since 1978. The nearby post office was renamed for Seagoville in 2011, so some addresses use that name. Either way, we can test your home.
Do I need to empty closets before you arrive?
No. Clear a path to the areas of concern, the attic access and the HVAC equipment if you can. We do not need rooms emptied.
Can mold grow in a well-ventilated attic?
Yes, if water is getting in. Good ventilation helps an attic dry out, but it cannot keep up with a roof leak or a bath fan that blows straight into the attic.
Can you give a second opinion on another company’s results?
Yes. We can do our own assessment and sampling, and you are welcome to share an earlier report so we understand what was found before.
Can mold grow inside a wall without a leak?
It can, though it is less common. Condensation on the inside of an exterior wall, especially behind large furniture or vinyl wallpaper, can keep a surface damp enough for growth. Leaks are still the more likely cause, so we check for those first.
